I HAVE PRETTY MUCH ALWAYS USED 50LB BRAID FOR FLIPPING AND PITCHING AND I DON'T ALWAYS FISH MUDDY WATER WHERE SEEING THE LINE IS NOT A BIG DEAL. SHOULD I WORRY ABOUT FLOUROCARBON FOR SHORT PRESENTATIONS LIKE FLIPPING? WILL IT TAKE THE SHOCK OF HARD HOOKSET?

I think it would depend on whose line you're using. I've never had an issue with Vicious fluorocarbon and flipping. In fact, if you're fishing around a lot of rock or zebra mussels or barnacles, I think you're better off with fluorocarbon. Braid is awesome, but seems to cut fairly easily on the above mentioned stuff. If you're fishing grass, braid is the way to go, but with wood or rock, I'll pick fluoro every time.

As you know Keith, I have been fishing with Vicious 20lb for the past 4 months and I love it. I think that in an emergency, I could tow a boat to shore with it it need be. It is the toughest and stongest and most sesitive Fourocarbon I have found to date.

I use to fish with the Vanish flourocarbon but had to many times where the line would snap on hook set. I don't think it was from nicks in the line because it would break way up the line from where you would think your nicks would be. Maybe just a bad spool but I can't afford bad spools. My point is that the Viscious lines are strong and nick resistant. I fish in a lot of trash to get my fish and the line holds up to everything I have put it through. I ordered mine from the Vicious web site. Site found on FTB home page.
